Joelle T. Shanesy, Esquire is Shanesy Law's lead attorney and founder. She has dedicated her entire career to serving clients in the area of family law, helping clients with matters such as divorce, custody, child support, spousal support and alimony, adoption, and protection from abuse. She also provides assistance on estate planning matters, including drafting estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. In 2022, Joelle was nominated by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys as one of the Top 10 Under 40 honorees in Pennsylvania for her excellence in the field of family law. ​

More About Joelle
Joelle earned her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law, graduating in the top of her class. Prior to earning her J.D., Joelle graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Political Science.
​
Prior to founding Shanesy Law, Joelle developed her skills in family law working at a busy firm in Center City Philadelphia, helping clients with all aspects of family law and estate planning. She also honed her skills working a a large regional law firm, assisting the firm's clients in family law matters. During law school, Joelle was a judicial intern to the Honorable Judith Olson in the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

Joelle is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association Family Law Section and Young Lawyer’s Division. She additionally is a member of the Nicholas Cipriani American Inn of Court.
